The Importance of Roses: Quilting through the Depression – Terry Thompson Mon., July 21 – 6:15-8:15
Celebrate women’s lives through the depression era, while you create Terry Thompson’s 2008 Kansas City Star‘s monthly series. During each of our 2008 club sessions you will learn about how these women lived, the gardens they created, and their quilts. You will study them through their writings. Club Fee $12. per session.

Join Nancy in an olde fashioned gathering. During Jo’s Little Women, Nancy will take you back in time as you recreate olde looking quilts and accessories designed by Jo Morton. You’ll just love the process of making these charming little quilts while stitching with your friends. During each session you will receive a 20% discount on Jo’s fabrics, patterns and books. Machine piecing & rotary cutting experience required. Club Fee for June $12. and for Aug. to Dec. $35.

Period Piecers 2008 – Before the Block: America's Earliest Quilts – Barbara Brackman Mon., June 2 & Sept. 8 – 6:15-8:15 Or Mon., June 9 & Sept. 15 – 1:00-3:00
In 2008 we'll look to the earliest patchwork quilts for inspiration in pattern and fabric. We'll focus on the framed medallions and strip quilts made from 1775 to 1830 before repeat block designs became popular. We'll discuss the fabric---chintzes, wood blocks and copperplate prints---and how to shop for reproductions. Each meeting you'll get pieced and appliquéd patterns for a medallion or strip set sampler and a good deal of history about the period around the time of the Revolution. Club Fee $12. per session.
Scrap Happy Quilters – Pat Moore Wed., July 23, Sept. 24, & Nov. 19 – 6:00-8:30
Is your sewing space being over run with those irresistible charm squares? If so, join our Scrap Happy Quilters Club. During 2008, we will be trading 5" squares to make lap size quilts using the book "More Nickel Quilts" by Pat Spaeth. Machine piecing & rotary cutting experience required. Book Fee $27.95 less 20%.
