Betcha Can't Make Just One! – Kathy Delaney

This is not your typical tote!  Join Kathy in making this tote from Perkins Dry Goods - it goes together in a most unusual way!  Once you get the basic pattern figured out, ideas will just keep coming!  Kathy will give you some ideas for designing your own elements to make it your own!  Want something smaller?   This pattern makes both a purse as well as a good sized tote. Beware, they're kind of like potato chips - you won't be able to stop at just one!  A friendly relationship with your sewing machine is required.   Pattern Fee $8.50.  Class Fee $35.

Have you wanted to learn to perfect flying geese blocks?  Here is your chance.  Ilyse will teach you 3 ways to make them accurately while working on a gorgeous Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. quilt.  This is also a great scrappy stash buster with many fabrics of light, medium, and dark values. Diagonal settings will also be demonstrated.  Machine piecing & rotary cutting experience required.  Kit $1.  Pattern Fee $8.50.  Class Fee $40.

 

Flower Shower – Donna Lynn Thomas

Learn how to make these fast and easy pieced and appliquéd blocks. From pastels to primaries, these flower blocks go together quickly in a multitude of colors. Donna will show you her simple method for making bias stems as well as a fast way to make the flower petals.  Some appliqué experience is required.   Class Fee $40.

 

Hexagon Bag – Kelly Ashton

Hexagons do NOT have to be pieced by hand!  And, it's amazing just how quickly they go together!  Kelly will show you the trick to machine piecing hexagons and guide you through construction of this cute and functional bag.  Machine piecing & rotary cutting experience required.  Pattern fee $8. Introduction to English Paper Piecing – Mindy Peterson

Session #1 – Thurs., Apr. 15 – 10:00-12:30

Session #2 – Sat., May 8 – 1:00-3:30

English Paper Piecing has been around since the 1800’s and is now enjoying a huge revival.  In this class you will learn the technique of how to make simple flowers from various shapes and construct a small wall hanging using those flowers.  Watch out, you may become addicted!  Once you learn the basics, you can create anything from a large Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt to smaller projects using the individual flowers.  They also make a great portable project.  Kit fee:  $4.  Class Fee $20.

Paper Cuts and Toile – Kathy Delaney

Join Kathy in this continuing class as she guides you through this new block-of-the-month wall quilt.  Begin with a paper cut "snow flake" and finish with appliqué.  This dramatic design is fun to complete!  We will begin with the 9 blocks of the Prairie Point Block-of-the-Month, but at the end of the year you'll learn to design your own blocks!  You may wish to make your quilt larger or create companion pillows.  Either way, you'll love your Paper Cuts an Toile!  Appliqué experience required.  Class Fee $67.

 

Russian Punch Needle Embroidery – Nancy Nunn

This centuries old needle art creates stunningly beautiful pieces with a richness of texture and color and can be created in only a few hours with relatively few supplies.  Class Fee $20.

 

Scotch Granny – Jeanne Poore

For all those Grannies, scrap lovers or fabric collectors here’s a quilt that is simple to piece using the connector/flip method.  Jeanne especially enjoys this quilt as her Grandfather was a Scotsman and she is a Granny.  Come join the fun using lots of fabric.  Machine piecing & rotary cutting experience required.  Class Fee $40.

Y-seams?  Why not! (A Table Runner project)- Kelly Ashton

"Y-seams", "partial seams", "set-in seams" - whatever the name, they seem to instill fear and frenzy into the hearts of many quilt makers!  They really are quite tame and harmless, once you get to know them!  While piecing this table runner, Kelly will introduce you to the world of the "Y-seam" and, in turn, to a whole new world of quilt blocks that will be available to you!  Marti Michell’s templates will be used to complete your table runner.  Machine piecing & rotary cutting experience required.  Template Fee $20. less 20%.  Class Fee $35.
